The last few years in Wedding World have been a doozy, haven’t they? We moved to Gettysburg in the summer of 2019 and I sat on a stack of boxes in our new house staring at a positive pregnancy test the day we got the keys. I was due in April of 2020 and, since it was our fourth baby, we decided I’d sit out most of the 2020 wedding season with an extended maternity leave. Turns out, the entire world was on leave by then because of the Virus Who Must Not Be Named. While I was grateful I didn’t have many weddings to cancel, that also meant I didn’t have much to reschedule into 2021. As my mother says, it was a mixed blessing. It feels good to jump back in with both feet, like the first early swim of the season where the water is icy but you’re ushering in the summer, ready or not.
This year feels like we’re all coming up for air, doesn’t it? Literally – no more masks! It feels good to be making plans, scheduling events, and living life again. Our transition to Southcentral Pennsylvania means my market moved too, and I’d love to tag-team with some lovely couples at venues that are new to me. Gettysburg is in a sweet spot where I’m still close to Frederick and I’ll continue to book at venues like Walkers Overlook, Springfield Manor, and Stone Manor Country Club – they’re some of my favorites! It’s also close to Carlisle, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg, and Harrisburg. So in the interest of namin’ it and claimin’ it, here’s a list of venues I’d love to explore:
Glen Ellen Farm
Ijamsville, MD
Antrim 1844
Taneytown, MD
The Tannery Barn
Taneytown, MD
Wyndridge Farm
York, PA
Hazelwood
New Oxford, PA
Bluebird Manor
Adamstown, MD
Historic Shady Lane
Manchester, PA
The Farm at Eagle’s Ridge
Lancaster, PA
Lauxmont Farms
Wrightsville, PA
If you’re getting married at one of these venues, I’d love to hear from you! You can get in touch with me here for a special rate exclusive to this list. 😉
