I’ve just spent the last 6 days in Florida which, wedged between Thanksgiving and Christmas, was a slightly jarring experience for someone who has forever lived within a few miles of the Mason Dixon Line. I will absolutely take the 85 degree weather, but there’s something about the sight of Santa riding a riverboat while mounds of faux bubbles made of suds float down from the rooftops that didn’t strike me as quite right. But I did spend Thanksgiving Day on St. Pete’s Beach with a pineapple margarita and the sand was warm and powdery and the water was ice cold and, as it turns out, that is my preference over stuffing and sweaters.
But now I’m back and weddings await! I absolutely loved Whitney and Jeremy’s wedding just a few weeks ago – we started at the Inn at Perry Cabin and hopped across the salt water to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. There were cold orange crushes and happy tears, bouncy, weightless bouquets and clinking wine glasses, fig bourbon smash by the glass and my new friend, your new friend – Bruce, an enormous Newfie who could, perhaps, be mistaken for a bear. But best of all I adored Whitney and her kind, generous manner, always concerned about the people around her, the best kind of bride, gentle and kind.
And, of course, an absolute dream team of vendors. It was an honor to be part of such an incredible day!
