I write to you today as the third member of the Thomas Family who has been stung by a wasp this week. They have us surrounded on all sides with a hive inside a raised garden bed just outside the patio door, and a shaggy gray nest tucked inside a recessed light fixture on the front porch. The latter happens to be immediately above my rocking chair and side table where I like to write my grocery lists. I was part way through writing coffee creamer when one of the SOBs kamikazed into the back of my neck. We are now on a mission to destroy them all and, in the meantime, we are ducking and dodging every flying thing whenever we need to get a package off the porch.
Of course, there were happier times in the last week: namely a full-family camping trip to Luray and my new favorite engagement session with Trinidad and Simone. They win the award for Longest Trip to a Session after flying in from Los Angeles for a long weekend in Trinidad’s hometown of St. Michaels. After chatting over email for the last few months, it was so nice to hug ’em in person and spend some time chatting about their upcoming wedding at Kirkland Manor in Easton. Simone wanted something really flirty and summery for this session and well, I think we nailed it. Gimme all the golden hour summer glow!
I can’t wait for their wedding in September with Sara Reynolds Events – the countdown is on!
See another sun-soaked engagement session here and a waterfront wedding on the Eastern shore here.
