The majority of my college classes took place in the same fluorescent, concrete-block classroom on the first floor of the Performing Arts Center at Frostburg State. There was no cell service, no windows, and the clock was on the back end of the classroom, so the professor would absolutely know if you craned your neck around to check it. The winter session was especially long – it would be daylight when I walked in, and pitch black by the time I walked out.
One of the classes was especially dry, and there was a lot of grumbling, but then in walks this absolute ray of sunshine, bubbling over and chatty, and she takes the open seat next to me. “I have chocolate-covered Pringles, do you want one?”
And that, my friends, is a match made in Heaven. I can’t believe that was 16! Years! Ago! And we’ve celebrated so much together along the way. Engagements, weddings, buying homes, and now – Christine + John are having a baby! I am so thrilled for them and feeling extra grateful we celebrated by making some sweet images on film, filled with expectation and joy.
