Fall wedding season is officially upon us! I’m so excited for cooler weather, rich fall color palettes, and eating leftover soup while wearing my husband’s sweatshirt the day after a wedding, hunkered down in my house like a hooded, anti-social troll. But you have to earn your At Home Troll Day by working really hard the day before, and I have never been more grateful for the kind of work that makes me tired. What a gift! Em and Jake’s wedding was an absolute treat for the senses – loads of colorful, punchy florals, warm candlelight and mint-hued hobnail glasses, melting ice cream sandwiches eaten under the stars and a new family, solidified forever.
The weather was calling for thunderstorms all afternoon so we moved the timeline up to try and get a maximum amount of portrait time before the sky let loose (another great reason to stay flexible on your wedding day and consider a First Look!). It looked like we’d have to move the ceremony inside the barn but Em + Jake decided to roll the dice and keep the ceremony in the woods. I’m so thankful they did because yowza – look at those colors! Look at that joy! What an incredible day for two fantastic people.
Many thanks to some of my very favorite vendors, it really does take a village:
