The impending cold snap on the radar this week means it’s time to transport us to a warmer, happier place – how about we take a trip to the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA for Amy & Dan’s greenhouse wedding? I photographed this lush, floral-filled wedding at the atrium alongside Amanda Summers. These colorful bouquets, overflowing greenery, and rays of sunshine are holding me over until summer comes again.
This venue was on my Redemption List – I photographed a wedding here years ago…sort of. They were meant to have their ceremony and portraits at the gardens and the reception at a restaurant, but the weather did not cooperate. By “not cooperate” I mean it was the sort of pouring, relentless rain that never lets up, not even a 5-minute break in the clouds to sneak in a few portraits. We used the atrium for a few bridal party portraits and we ducked under the awning for a few and well, we did what we could. But I could see out the rain-streaked windows and I just knew this venue was special and had so much to offer! I just had to grab the chance when I was invited back and Amy + Daniello’s wedding did not disappoint. We roamed all over the gorgeous gardens (with perfect lighting, no less) and we really had the greatest tour guide in Amy, she’s a botanist (!), and pointed out all the flowers by name. Beauty and brains, folks, I’m here for it.
I have 2024 and 2025 dates available – if you’re in need of a photographer, I’d love to hear from you!
