THE WAY I CAN’T WAIT TO TELL YOU ABOUT THIS ONE. Kelly + Connor were finally, epically, wonderfully married this past weekend at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Beach House Ballroom and I have been looking forward to this wedding for so long! To say it lived up to the expected hype is the understatement of the century – good people, this one had it all. Bittersweet moments, weepy moments, soft and quiet moments, big, fat, banging-hands-on-the-table-cheering moments – I am so thrilled these two made it official, and sad that it had to end.
If bubbles were a person – it’s Kelly. When I met Kelly and Connor in Riverside, Baltimore for their engagement session last year, I just knew we’d be fast friends. Effervescent and deeply kind, Kelly feels like an instant pal. And she’s perfectly matched with Connor, steady and attentive, balancing each other out (except on the dance floor where they go toe-to-toe). And we had a dream team of vendors, too – we all spent the entire evening asking each other, “Are we having the most fun ever? Isn’t this the best couple ever!? Aren’t they amazing!?” I GOTTA GUSH ON THIS ONE.
Their wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club’s Beach House Ballroom showed off the best of Maryland’s Eastern Shore for their guests, half of whom traveled from out of state to celebrate. We had a brilliantly hot pink sunset, tables dotted with electric-colored blooms, and a dance floor so crowded I had to dip and dodge to get in there. Kelly who, like me, cannot resist a lil’ sweet treat, had a giant ice cream sundae bar set up during their reception (in case you didn’t get enough from the frosty grapefruit crushes and spicy margs). Custom embroidered hats with nautical flags were on everyone’s head by the end of the night, and these two ran into forever through a crowd of their favorite people, shaking pom-poms the whole way.
My face hurts from smiling when I think about this day! I’m so grateful to know these two and honored to document this incredible wedding. Many thanks to the wonderful team who helped make this day such a success:
