What a day at Glen Ellen Farm in Ijamsville, MD for Nicole and Colin’s wedding! I am just thrilled to share this beautiful, special day with you. These two came all the way from Iowa to celebrate. She’s from Chicago, he’s from Maryland, they met at PT school at the University of Iowa because not only are they both gorgeous, they’re doctors, too. I absolutely loved the way these two brought not only their families, but their favorite things and traditions together.
Their day was so sweet with an emotional first look and two precious flower grandmas; meaningful with the Polish tradition of bread and salt passed to the couple by the parents of the bride; and endlessly fun with a bull roast raffle for the guests (An Iowa basket! A Maryland basket! A Polish basket!), a vodka vs. water shot to see who wears the pants in the relationship (peep those photos at the end and you’ll see who won!), and a Battle of the Bartenders to finish off the night.
The rain chased us all day long but we made it to the reception before the sky let loose, and I’m so thankful it held out because these are some of my most favorite portraits! Nicole and Colin were an absolute joy to photograph – what a day!
