I spent last Saturday night with Sydney and Jake for their Gettysburg engagement session and I’ve never been so happy to be a third wheel in all my life. These high-school sweethearts got engaged on the Hatfield-McCoy trails after graduating from the University of Alabama (I think I am legally obligated to add ROLL TIDE! here) and now they’re planning a spring wedding at Walker’s Overlook! I knew Sydney and I would be quick pals when she said she was making sourdough and visiting Smith Mountain Lake on the weekends (land that I love!).
We knew we wanted something a little more rustic and private for their engagement session and I cannot sing the Gettysburg Battlefield praises loud enough if this is your style! We had almost the entire battlefield to ourselves and we took full advantage of the swooshy grasses, peach trees, clean marble, and glowing sunset. Best of all, I loved seeing two longtime loves take the next big step together. I can’t wait to celebrate with you soon!
Plenty more where that came from – see another summer engagement here.
