Her sister-in-law messaged me just a few days before it was set to happen – they’d be in Gettysburg for the weekend, the proposal was happening in the morning, and would I be available for a surprise engagement session that afternoon? Why yes, yes I would.
My time with Maddie and Brady was short but sweet – it was a windy, chilly morning on the battlefield, so we had to get a little cozy and close to make it work (to clarify, they were cozy and close, I was a less-cute third wheel hanging out in the cold breeze with frozen fingers but it’s all for the cause!).
Gettysburg is one of my favorite places to shoot – there’s so many wonderful natural textures, tons of privacy if you’re a little camera shy, rock formations, swishy grass, soft light – I’m lucky it’s in my backyard. You can see more Gettysburg portraits here!
