Friday! We made it! It’s was oddly cool and breezy last night and we let the kids run laps around the yard chasing fireflies (and each other) until it was decidedly beyond their bedtime. My husband, who will tell you until his dying day that autumn is the supreme season, commented that it felt like summer was coming to a close and how nice that is. Naturally, I objected. I’ll take a few more weeks of churning up bright blue pool water, slices of icy watermelon, and not minding that my children are going slightly feral after dark. August also starts the countdown for Back to School which is not-applicable to us because we homeschool year round, but it does mean we’re going to get the library, parks, and mid-day Chick-fil-a back to ourselves. I’m not mad about it!
I’ve enjoyed a few weeks of minimal photography – I miss weddings, but working one in mid-July at a venue without air conditioning is trifficult. But September and October are fully loaded – 12 weddings! Mini-sessions! Here we go!
I’m also thrilled to share this lush, wildflower wedding at Bluebird Manor in Frederick with you. I photographed it alongside Amanda Summers and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. It was hot-hot-hot, but the flowers were blooming and Brittany + Forest leaned into the natural beauty of the venue with colorful florals and a pink blossom covered veil.
Getting married at Bluebird Manor? I’d love to hear from you!
