Brad + Sarah | Chambersburg, PA Engagement A Natural + Romantic Engagement at Cowan's Gap State Park

February 27, 2017

I’m not hesitant to say this will be the greatest engagement post of all time, and I know that with confidence because this handsome groom is my baby brother, Brad, and his gorgeous fiancée Sarah. I hope you can hear the hand-wringing pride in my voice when I tell you about these two because I love them with my whole heart and I’m completely honored to share their sweet engagement session today!

At the risk of writing out an entire novel about how much I love this punk-ass kid, I’ll try and keep it to the basics. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Brad – his list of friends is endless, there’s nobody he can’t get along with, if there was a pageant for eligible male firefighters he would absolutely take the Mr. Congeniality title. All he has to do it look at an instrument and it will basically play itself. From dirtbike races to live music to baseball to firefighting, he’s one of the most naturally talented, funny, kind, easy-going people I know. Don’t try to resist his charm; you’d be powerless against it.

Brad’s three years younger than me, so I don’t remember much about his high-school friends, but Sarah was one of them. There’s still a note passed between them about racing dirtbikes that weekend, and it’s adorable because that’s what they like to do together now. When Sarah popped back up a few years ago, it was easy to see why they remained friends for so long and that something special was brewing now. Brad lived with us for a short while and, in that time, we got to spend a lot of time getting to know Sarah (mostly over waffles). She has the same fun-loving, easy-going personality Brad does, but with slightly more structure (which Brad needs, amiright, Mom!?). We were sad and proud when they bought a new house together one town over because that meant he was moving out (and the withdrawal from two particularly cute nieces was real).

A few months later on a warm July evening by the river by their new house, and because he couldn’t wait any longer, Brad asked Sarah to marry him. And I’m grateful to say I’m in the thick of it because I’ll be a bridesmaid and their photographer at their Walker’s Overlook wedding later this year. We are so, so excited for you two and we can’t wait to make Sarah officially a part of our family. Love you both!!
